When I made this card, I didn’t intend to make a pun about using masks, but here it is! I was just playing with some pieces that I had stamped and cut out a few weeks ago. I wanted to play with my Decorative Masks and spritzing a colored background! I really wish you could see the card in person!
I made a video to also show you how to make this card and share some useful tips! A special thank you to Patty Bennet for the suggestion of using Stamparatus Plates to keep your work area mess free! (mostly mess free)
I did try this technique with Whisper White card stock, but it bled a bit.
Here is a close up of the card so you may be able to see the shimmer paint that is mixed in with the Stamping Spritzer. To make your bottle of color: pour rubbing alcohol about 3/4 of the way to the top of the bottle. Add 4-8 drops of your ink refill. You need more for lighter colors and less for darker colors. Then, you add a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint in the spritzer. Shake really well!
I really enjoyed making this card and that it turned into a club project too! If you are wanting to purchase some items, here is the host code for April!

Do you remember the card I made a couple of weeks ago with the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits? I kept all the ones that were cut off and created this gem! And I have enough for one more! The one item that made these butterflies a breeze to put together was the Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheet! Just place a piece on the cardstock color you will use for your detailed die, then run it through the Big Shot! You now have a sticker-peel off the back and place on top of the bottom color! Crazy, I didn’t even use a stamp or ink on this card!
I LOVE the FREE Botanical Butterfly Paper! The back side of each colorful piece of DSP has a black and white pattern! I love this gingham with the Calypso Coral and Black! I was going to add a sentiment, but I felt it would have been too much! Clean and Simple!
March Hostess Code is PBXJZGXM and I will also send you a FREE pack of Frosted Flower Embellishments just for ordering from me! Click on Laura’s Stampin’ Up! website to order now!
I wanted the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits, but I didn’t know how stunning they would turn out when you cut them out with the Big Shot! Wow! I can’t wait to make more and cut them up to make a collage/framed art piece! It comes with 20 dies! I placed them in the photo so you could see one has more detail than the other. I used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with the Basic Black cut out for a simple adhesion to the Calypso Coral! (if you have ever had/heard of a Zyron, this is very similar-but easier)
The background is watercolor paper with Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight watercolor pencils mixed with water from the Aqua Painter. THEN I squeezed a liberal amount of Wink of Stella Clear over that! SOOOO pretty in person!
And remember how I told you the Rectangle Stitched Framelits are a must? Well, I used it again here to paper save and add more texture to this card! The DSP is the FREE Botanical Butterfly DSP-each flip side as a Black & White design on it!
A quick sentiment that is easily cut out with a punch and coordinating stamp from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set!
How about adding the items for this card or even the Big Shot and some goodies?

Oh my, the Butterfly Gala bundle is my favorite out of the Occasions Catalog! The punch pops out both butterfly images at the same time! And the photopolymer stamps make the placement a snap! The stamps have two butterflies that line up perfect with the punch! You can make tons of them!
I used Daffodil Delight and Grapefruit Grove among with sponge daubers to color the butterflies! Just gorgeous!
To make the Ombre look, I stamped the small solid butterfly full strength and then two more times before re-inking the stamp. I love the Gingham Gala DSP pack and how easy it makes such gorgeous cards! This card was made for my Sweet & Simple class. Now I need to make a Valentine’s Day card for the 2nd card!
This is a sweet deal for you craft addicts!!! $129 for the tote PLUS $175 in current catalog items of YOUR choice!!

I am so happy that we have the new Stampin’ Blends markers! They are alcohol based markers that make shading a snap! The collection can be sold as a whole set, in pairs, or per marker. There are also color lifters, Ivory, and Bronze colors to make your skin tones easy too!
I wanted to focus on a fun technique this month at club, and used them with the Stained Glass technique. It’s super simple and yields gorgeous results!
USE the Embossing Buddy!! I usually forget using it, but for this technique, it’s a must. Rub some on the surface of the vellum.
Next, use Versa Mark and stamp your image on the vellum.
Use a dark or metallic embossing powder to sprinkle on top.
Heat the powder using the heat tool.
Choose your markers that you want to use and color on the BACK side of the vellum.
Adhere your vellum to a light colored card stock. I used Glue Dots under the wings to keep them hidden.
I also used Washi Tape to keep the sides down and a Glue Dot on top covered by the Fresh Fig bow. I am so ready for warmer weather and pretty flowers! So, you may see a lot of bright colors and flowers coming! After this cold/flu/sick season….I am done!
