I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since 2007! I love to share techniques, creativity and fun with others! Scapbooking and stamping is my therapy and escape! I would love to teach you and your friends how fun, simple, and theraputic stamping can be! Contact me or subscribe to my blog to book your party today!
We booked our annual Mother’s Day Retreat back in January not knowing that the virus would be such a strain on everything. Our state allowed our retreat to re-open on May 1st and we were delighted to be the first to stay there since the lock down. I had not really had my hopes up that we would be able to go, to this was a very welcome break!
I love my child and I have always respected what teachers do and what they have to deal with (parents/students), but this e-learning has taught me that being a school teacher was never in the cards for me! (five days left, five days left).
I made this card for our monthly (now virtual) stamp club. I wanted it to be a little easier than the cards we do in person. I type up a PDF and a video of the technique so they can follow along on how to recreate the technique. It’s worked well this past two months. I wanted some summery fun colors, so I chose Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green for my colors. I then ran a piece of Whisper White through the die cutting machine with the Lace dies.
Next, I used the Medium Daisy and Daisy punches to make the flowers pop! The larger daisies are cut out with one Whisper White and on Vellum Card. The smaller ones are punched out with Whisper White. To give the Granny Apple Green some texture, I ran it through the die cutting machine with the Subtle 3-D folder. A quick sentiment and a Gold Faceted gem finishes of this cheerful card!
Oh, I am sooooo excited for the NEW catalog to go live on June 3rd! Look at this adorable Jar of Flowers stamp set! I am a sucker for Mason jars and farmhouse style-so when I saw this on the pre-order, it was in my basket! Did you notice the cute Mason Jar Shaker Domes??? There is double sided tape on both sides so there is no extra adhesive needed to make the shaker cards! There is a coordinating Jar punch to make these a snap to make too!
Tip, be sure that you allow enough room to get your flowers stamped and the where the punch can reach the jar. They also have Flowers for Every Season Gems, so I put a dozen or so in the jar! There are reversible stamps in this one too! I made the water line with the opposite side of the detailed water stamp!
I have really enjoyed using my Stampin’ Blends lately. For this card I used the Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, and Mossy Meadow combo packs. I added some Wink of Stella (I know, shocking!) to the flowers and finished off the jar with the 3/16″ Braided Trim. I wanted a clean look, so I used the Subtle 3D Folder and Stitched so Sweetly dies for the rest of the card!

We had a crazy week last week! We live in North Texas and we had a storm roll through last Tuesday night. It caused straight line wind damage to our 26 year old trees! We have one left in tact. One had to be completely removed since it split in half and half was on the house! Our alley was completely blocked by the back two trees and it damaged part of our fence. So hopefully I get a pass for not posting last week!
We did continue with the Mystery Stamping Event via Zoom last Friday. These have been so much fun and seeing everyone’s creations has been so rewarding! I made a power point on how to make a Half-Z Fold and I shared it with the Zoom group. I really need some masculine birthday cards and the Come Sail Away suite doesn’t disappoint! Having a suite really helps coordinate your creations and makes them look professional!
To create this Half Z Fold:
•9”x 5 ½ ” card base of your color choice. Score at 1 7/8″ and at 4 7/8″
2 designs of coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) or patterned paper: Main Focal pattern: 2 ¾ ” X 5 ¼” & another with that same pattern 1 ¼ “ x 5 ¼ “; another pattern cut to 1 ½” x 5 ¼”
•2 5/8” x 5-1/4” Whisper White for inside the card.
Adhere your matching 2 DSP pieces to the card base to the front part of the card and the smaller on the right-hand side. –Adhere the Whisper White next to that flush with the 5 ½ side. –Add the last piece of DSP to the small fold.
Then you choose a shape for your anchor piece (mine is the anchor/happy birthday piece)
There are some great deals on the Last Chance products and you can order the Ornate Garden Suite items too! I am at a much needed craft retreat playing with Pre-Order items! (it just re-opened May 1st-it’s only 3 of us-and we are the first since the stay at home started).
Here is the host code for this month! Remember that if you order more than $150-you can enjoy the host benefits for yourself!
I participated in a Zoom call with other demos in our region and Chad, our Demonstrator Development Manger. It was a lot of fun to meet others, brainstorm ideas, and made new connections! Our focus was on how to keep people stamping, helping pass the time, and to aid in ideas on how to keep our classes/events going.
There was a great suggestion from a dear friend, Sharon Armstrong from Arizona, to hold a Mystery Stamping/ Card event. She usually does hers via FB. We tried it last Friday and we had so much fun! It really helped boost spirits, inflict laughter, and showed our talents!!!
This is the end product for the Peek-a-boo Panel card that I came up with. I had a power point with clues on each one. Each person used their own stash of paper, patterned paper, inks, and other supplies.
Check out the other people’s creations!
We already agreed to do it again this Friday and the event is full! Wow! Here is another one that I made for this layout too!
Don’t forget to order your Last Chance Items before they are gone! The link to shop: click on Laura’s Stampin’ Up! website and use host code through April 30th: 2GD9RANM
When I made this card, I didn’t intend to make a pun about using masks, but here it is! I was just playing with some pieces that I had stamped and cut out a few weeks ago. I wanted to play with my Decorative Masks and spritzing a colored background! I really wish you could see the card in person!
I made a video to also show you how to make this card and share some useful tips! A special thank you to Patty Bennet for the suggestion of using Stamparatus Plates to keep your work area mess free! (mostly mess free)
I did try this technique with Whisper White card stock, but it bled a bit.
Here is a close up of the card so you may be able to see the shimmer paint that is mixed in with the Stamping Spritzer. To make your bottle of color: pour rubbing alcohol about 3/4 of the way to the top of the bottle. Add 4-8 drops of your ink refill. You need more for lighter colors and less for darker colors. Then, you add a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint in the spritzer. Shake really well!
I really enjoyed making this card and that it turned into a club project too! If you are wanting to purchase some items, here is the host code for April!
If your list has over $100 on it, you should consider joining our Crafting Corner Team! For just $99 plus tax, you will get to choose up to $125 in current products! Are you ready for a card tutorial that goes with adorable Under My Umbrella Bundle? I have just the boredom busting treat for you! I will have a PDF and video for you to create 3 cards with the purchase of the Under My Umbrella Bundle 153786 $30.50.
For an additional $15 (includes 1st class shipping), I can mail you the consumable parts for the 3 cards (but you will get enough for 6 cards, 2 of each design) I wear gloves to cut and package so you can feel safe receiving the packets! We are hunkered down and healthy! Order deadline is April 30th! Use Host Code 2GD9RANM (be sure not to click “no contact”)
It always tickles me to see an email come across that someone has placed an online order! I take it as a compliment that you chose me! It does make me sad that some choose to check “no contact”. Please know that I just like to spoil my customers, keep them informed a few times a month (not 12 times a day-annoying), and send thank you perks! I promise I am not the pushy type!
Here is the list of items to have on hand to make the cards. You can always improvise or change it up too!
One bonus of being at home is that I am finally stepping out of my comfort zone and making more videos! What are you doing to pass the time?
Here is a super simple technique you can use for your more detailed line images. You stamp the whole image onto Rococo Rose card stock and then stamp the image again onto a Whisper White cardstock and punch out your focal point! The results are stunning and elegant! Plus you can make quite a few in a short amount of time! Send some love to those you miss seeing! I promise that it will melt their heart!
Here is a close up of the focal point! I used the Epoxy Frosted/Clear Droplets to create some bling. Use the Rococo Rose Dark Blend pen to color your vellum and then punch it out with the Twig Punch. Custom colored vellum in a snap!
This card started as a completely different idea in my head! Does this ever happen to you? I wanted to make a card with the Under My Umbrella bundle. As you can see-that didn’t happen. The color inspiration came from the Dressed to Impress DSP! The flowers in the DSP were so close to the smaller roses in the Beautiful Friendship (Anuual Catalog 149252, pg 123), that I was going to make a light background with them. Well, the thought train derailed and jumped onto a different track! I LOVE how it turned out!
One of the benefits of the Beautiful Friendship stamp set is that you can stamp in generations! (stamp on the ink pad once and get 1 to 3 images from that one inking).
The roses were stamped with Lovely Lipstick, but I stamped on my grid paper first, then the Whisper White to make it a softer hue. I adore hydrangeas! I wish it wasn’t so hot in Texas-my yard would have tons of them! So, for those, I stamped them with the Highland Heather and used the one inking 2 times! The leaves Mint Macaron at full strength and the accent sprig was stamped with So Saffron. The big rose bunch was stamped with Blushing Bride.
I stamped the sentiment with Basic Grey so it wasn’t so in your face! Then I colored the Basic Pearls with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend. A few brushes of Wink of Stella and some Polka-Dot Tule and it was done! I did stamp some edges of leaves and hydrangeas to the sentiment so it blended in a bit.
I am so excited!! On April 20th, demonstrators get to see the new catalog!! AND the PRE-Order is in May! Sqeeeeee! If you can’t wait, may I suggest joining my team! The Ultimate Bundle is just $99 plus tax. You will get up to $125 in any current product offering! Then you could get a sneak peek of the catalog AND order before everyone else! The bonus?? With you 20% discount! Click on Laura’s Stampin’ Up! site to get started!
Adjusting to this new norm is definitely a challenge for all of us. I have been holding on the silver linings in each day. When I go for a walk, I am noticing more people biking, walking, and gardening! And I LOVE spring-so I am taking a lot of pictures of flowers blooming! It’s a message from above to keep the faith-renewal and rebirth is coming! So, stay positive! It’s okay to not be okay too! Just don’t stay there-let it out and then count your blessings!
If you are like me, you can go create in your craft space and just loose track of time! Stampin’ Up! just released the Ornate Garden Suite for customers to order this month! As a demonstrator, we were able to order it as a pre-order item. It is amazing! The whole suite is worth purchasing, but you can also order ala cart! I have created several items with this already! This one is my favorite so far!
I stamped the single daisy and colored it with a Blender Pen and some ink off of the lid of the ink pads. I did use some Memento Black to shade the daisy for more depth. I love the Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Daffodil Delight colors together for daisies!! It just screams spring! I used a proportionate sized border from the Ornate Borders Dies and ran a piece of Night of Navy through die cutting machine. The Ornate Floral 3-D embossing is just gorgeous! I used a piece of Daffodil Delight to make a pop of color behind the daisy. The DSP is from the Painted Poppies pack. I wanted to add some Old Olive and a simple pattern.
I finished this card with a Linen Thread bow, some Wink of Stella Clear, and a small sentiment. I used one of the smaller dies in the Nesting Dies to cut it out.
