Golden Deer

Que up the Christmas cards!  I saw the Dashing Deer bundle in the New Holiday Catalog and I had to have it!  I made this card for my stamp clubs this month!  I was very happy that the detail inside the deer remained after using Versa Mark and Gold Embossing Powder.  Looks so majestic!!

I paired it with a strip of paper from the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper!  You should see the patterns in this pack!  Just gorgeous!!  And you get 4 of each of the 6 designs (2 sided/12 pages) watermarked24(2018-09-07-1437)

Next, I added some texture by running a piece of Garden Green through the Big Shot using the Swirls & Curls embossing folder! Then I stamped the scroll with Crumb Cake color on color on the top and bottom. To create the flowing banner, I used my Bone Folder to curl the middle of the sentiment piece.  I curled the ends the opposite direction and added 2 layers of dimensionals in the center to help it keep its shape. I finished the card off with a bow made from the Cherry Cobbler Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine.

Black Ice Technique

watermarked1(2018-09-07-1302)

Every month I hold stamp club where the girls get to make 3 projects, with one card that is a technique.  I was blessed to have completed all my techniques for the rest of this year!  This month I found this awesome and popular Black Ice technique!

It’s so simple to make too!  Just follow the instructions below:

  1. Stamp your image onto Silver Foil paper with StazOn Black.
  2. Take the StazOn and then drag up and down, and side to side. You just want some random streaks of black. The StazOn works best to prevent smearing.
  3. Let it dry for a minute or two.  Then take VersaMark and drag up and down & side to side.
  4. Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder on the whole thing and tap off excess.
  5. Heat set the whole piece.  It takes a little longer than the metallic embossing powders.  The image will appear very crisp and deep black.  Plus the Silver will really pop!

We used the hostess set Very Vintage for this card.  We randomly stamped the vintage doily with Smoky Slate for a background.  Then we ran the Basic Gray piece through the Big Shot using the Subtle Embossing Folder.  Finished it with a sentiment and some ribbon in the back.

I hope you enjoyed this technique as much as we did! I may make one with the Beautiful Blizzard set next!

True Blue

This card reminds me of the Cobalt Blue plates that my grandmother had showcased in her china cabinet!  It is a simple, yet elegant card!

The catch is this is a Host set only!  The set also has a lace doily, a detailed bee, and beautiful accents to add more visual effects on your project!

It features the new In Color 2018-2020 Blueberry Bushel and it’s coordinating DSP pack!  If you are just starting out, this is a great card layout for you!  All I used was one color ink, 2 cardstock colors, 1 stamp set, adhesive, and baker’s twine (optional). This is a go to layout for me when I am stumped for a quick card too!  I can change it up a bit with colors, textures, images, and embellishments-and no one notices!

Here is a video to show how simple it is to create! The end has the item numbers too!

Where are my Halloween lovers???  Look what is coming in your mailbox in September!  I CAN’T wait!  I promise that this one will be a sell out, so you will want to subscribe by September 10th to get yours reserved!  You can go month to month, buy a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription, and skip a month too! Bring on Fall

I am so ready for fall!  This is the fifth card that I have made with the Blended Seasons bundle!  I used the cut out from my previous card to create this simple fall card!  We are making it tonight at my Sweet & Simple card class!

To create this beauty:

  1. Stamp the leaves with Early Espresso ink randomly on Soft Suede cardstock.
  2. Stamp thank you on a Crumb Cake piece and run it through the Big Shot with the smallest of the Stitched Seasons label die.  (I centered the sentiment more towards the top to leave room for the embellishments)
  3. On a scrap of Very Vanilla, use the Watercolor Assortment #2 and color with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Granny Apple Green.
  4. Cut out 2 leaves and use Wink of Stella to blend the watercolors.
  5. Tie a bow with 2 pieces of Linen Thread.
  6. Dimensionals were used to pop up the sentiment piece and glue dots for the leaves & Gold Glimmer paper.

Tropical Birthday

img_0993

I am in love with the Tropical Chic suite!!  The colors are so fun and vibrant!  But I have to admit that I didn’t look at this set as one of my first “have to have” sets.  My friend used this suite and it just was love at first site!  In fact this is a sneak peek of the Creative Class to Go for August!  (more to come about that in August).

I have made 4 cards already with this set!  This card was really simple to make but it has a lot of character!  I cut a strip of Tropical Escape DSP.  Then I cut a piece of Sparkle Glimmer paper a tad smaller than the Big Shot leaf die.  Next, I took a piece of Basic Black and ran it through the Big Shot with the palm leaves cut outs.  I then placed the glimmer paper behind the Basic Black with Glue Dots.  I popped the whole piece up with Dimensionals and added the birthday sentiment.img_0995

I used the new Shaded Spruce ink pad….it is one of my favorites next to the Granny Apple Green!

Did you know that you can get a FREE ink pad family valued at $67.50 by signing up!  That puts the value of the started kit at close to $200 for just $99 plus local tax!

Simple Garden

Do you need to make several birthday cards at one time?  Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper is perfect for bright colors, beautiful designs, color combinations, and great graphics!  I chose the Garden Impressions DSP 6×6 pack for this card!  The colors in this DSP pack are just fun and playful!  The concept designers are always on point with their color selections and use of spacing!

I cut the paper to 3″x4″ and used Shaded Spruce 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ as a mat color. I stamped the sentiment with Shaded Spruce on Whisper White and ran it through the Big Shot.  I used the Stitched Shapes to give it extra texture.  I used the Petal Pink Glimmer ribbon to wrap around the DSP/mat piece. Then I used Dimensionals to pop it up.

Simple Hugs

Healing Hugs 1

Wow!!  The dist-ink-tive stamps in the Healing Hugs is just stunning!  Look at the detail!! Berry Burst is still one of my favorite 2017-2019 In Colors!  I paired it up with Granny Apple Green!  (I LOVE THIS Color!) It still gives a pop of green with out being too bright!  I still love Lemon Lime Twist, but this is a new option for pops of color!

I made this card for my upcoming Sweet & Simple class next week (6/27/18 @ 7pm for my local peeps).  I did use the cross-stitch patterned stamp as a color on color image on the card base.  It needed extra depth-but I didn’t want to use the Big Shot on both cards for this class.  I hold a class one evening every month and rotate the night.  I like to have this class available for people that are new to stamping or need a quick creative fix!

Healing Hugs 2

June 22nd is the last day to get your FREE Creative Card Class to Go!  This is great for people that cannot make classes but love to create!  It gives you 3 designs with the same stamp set/bundle!
