When I saw the Annual Catalog for the first time back in May, I immediately was drawn to the Prized Peony Suite! The colors are soft, the flowers are so elegant, and the embellishments finish off your projects in a snap! Who wants easy coordination when they are creating their cards or pages??
A couple girls and I went to a retreat in July and I made at least 10 of these peony flowers! But, I admit that I was intimidated by the dies when I pulled them out. Once they came together, I decided to share how to make them! They are really easy and very addictive!
Check out the detail in this up close picture of the flower that I made! To create a more distressed flower, you just take your Water Spritzer and dampen your cardstock a little. Then crumple it into a ball and then flatten out. You can now run this cardstock through the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine and continue making your flowers!
I hope you enjoyed the video and will subscribe to my channel for more exciting, unique, and intriguing techniques!

My son camp home with the most stunning art project on canvas! They used salt and water to create a whimsical background! Well you know I had to try it for my card club technique! I included a video for this to help you create your own background!
I did a few test pieces on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. The first one I followed the directions from a video on SCS. It does make a nice background, but I was looking for more motion in my background. I knew I was going to use the Whale Done bundle, so a sea bed with a sense of waves was perfect! I used more water on mine after I applied the sea salt.
I am SOOOOO excited about the new Water Painters! There are 3 differnt sized brushes in each pack! Small tip, broad tip, and and brush tip! It makes these water color washes so much easier to create! I used a acrylic block to drop my re-inkers on to like a mini palette. The Stampin’ Spritzers are wonderful because their spray comes out a fine mist.

I have seen the Bubble Background Technique before and I saved it to a private board-a few years ago! So, I finally decided to give it a whirl! This was so much fun, and a little messy! I really did feel the enjoyment of my childhood when we would blow bubbles outside!
I made a video for you to learn how to create these whimsical backgrounds for your cards or pages! (excuse this one, it’s with my new equipment, I was a little giddy! And the video is not centered. Eh, whatcha gonna do?)
This is one of those sets that you need to keep so you always have accents at your fingertips! I can see home décor, scrapbook pages, cards, kids project, and so much more!
A few quick tips:
1. Dish soap and water do not yield great results.
2. I used a bendy straw so I didn’t accidentally blow on the wrong end and have inky lips.
3. Be sure to keep the paper away from the top of your container-it will leave a circle.
4. The lighter your ink color, the more drops you will need.
I would love to see your creations! You can purchase the items used to make this card from the list below. It’s Bonus Days through the end of July! For every $50 you spend, you will get an email from Stampin’ Up! with a $5 off your purchase in August. I have 8 already-crazy!

Do you remember back to when you first learned how to make cards? My friend gave me a catalog to look at and I bought stamps, inks, and supplies for 5 years. But, I did one project! Sound familiar? So, I signed up for some classes at our local scrapbook store and fell in love with paper crafting! But then they closed in early 2008! After researching different companies and other stores, I signed up with Stampin’ Up! in July of 2007 for “the discount”. I was already spending $50-100 per month on supplies that didn’t match anyways!
Product quality, great customer service, and color coordination were the main factors back then that made it easy to join! I started off with a class or two and enjoyed my hobby paying for itself! So, for $99 plus tax-You get $125 of any current catalog items PLUS a die/tool bundle of your choice!! Join NOW by clicking on Laura’s Stampin’ Up website.
One of the first, and simple, techniques I learned was how to mask your images so they look layered. I posted a short video so you can see how easy it is to give your card images dimension using a sticky post it note!
I used the Tasteful Textures Stamp Set and the coordinating Tasteful Labels to make this card. I will tell you I have used the Tasteful Labels a lot because they have a variety of shapes, sizes, and edging!
First I stamped off onto my scratch grid paper with the feather stamped in Gray Granite randomly on the card base. Then I stamped the flower on a post it note towards the top so the sticky side and cut it out so can be used. Next, I stamped the flower on the Whisper White where I wanted it and then placed the sticky note one directly on top. I carefully stamped the foliage three times being sure the part I didn’t want was being stamped on the sticky note. Then I pulled it off to reveal the 2-D layering.
I used the Petal Pink Blends to color the flower and stamped the texture stamp with Petal Pink ink three times. (I stamped off before stamping on the Whisper White for a softer look). I finished the card with a little ribbon behind the sentiment and I colored the flower with some Wink of Stella. Kind of hard to see in this light.
When I made this card, I didn’t intend to make a pun about using masks, but here it is! I was just playing with some pieces that I had stamped and cut out a few weeks ago. I wanted to play with my Decorative Masks and spritzing a colored background! I really wish you could see the card in person!
I made a video to also show you how to make this card and share some useful tips! A special thank you to Patty Bennet for the suggestion of using Stamparatus Plates to keep your work area mess free! (mostly mess free)
I did try this technique with Whisper White card stock, but it bled a bit.
Here is a close up of the card so you may be able to see the shimmer paint that is mixed in with the Stamping Spritzer. To make your bottle of color: pour rubbing alcohol about 3/4 of the way to the top of the bottle. Add 4-8 drops of your ink refill. You need more for lighter colors and less for darker colors. Then, you add a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint in the spritzer. Shake really well!
I really enjoyed making this card and that it turned into a club project too! If you are wanting to purchase some items, here is the host code for April!

One bonus of being at home is that I am finally stepping out of my comfort zone and making more videos! What are you doing to pass the time?
Here is a super simple technique you can use for your more detailed line images. You stamp the whole image onto Rococo Rose card stock and then stamp the image again onto a Whisper White cardstock and punch out your focal point! The results are stunning and elegant! Plus you can make quite a few in a short amount of time! Send some love to those you miss seeing! I promise that it will melt their heart!
Here is a close up of the focal point! I used the Epoxy Frosted/Clear Droplets to create some bling. Use the Rococo Rose Dark Blend pen to color your vellum and then punch it out with the Twig Punch. Custom colored vellum in a snap!
Do you want to learn how to make this addictive Sepia Water Color with Bleach card? I LOVE this technique! It’s easier than it looks, though there are a few steps involved. I included a video! I am trying to learn how to maneuver online, so bear with me!

Very Vanilla Thick 5 1/2 x 8 1/2; Early Espresso 5 1/4 x 4; Watercolor Paper 3 3/4 x 5 & 3 1/2 x 3 1/2; To A Wild Rose Stamp Set; Very Versailles Stamp Set; Soft Suede Ink Pad; Early Espresso Ink Pad; StazOn Black; Bleach; Aqua Painter; Soft Suede Re-inker; Wink of Stella; White Embossing Powder; Versa Mark; Heat Tool; Stamparatus; Stampin’ Spritzer with water; and a fine tip paint brush.
Scroll through the carousel to see the other cards I created with this technique! I still have one more that is almost finished too! (I have learned that I do not care for the smell of bleach though…)

I was just wanting to see the amazing details that it created and then I took out my Daubers. I wanted to match the gorgeous Painted Seasons DSP (another free item/bundle with a $100 purchase) colors, so I chose Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, and Mango Melody. Just a light swipe with the inked dauber is all you need! I accented the flowers with Call Me Clover for the leaves. I love how it turned out!
I also added Wink of Stella clear to the roses for a touch of bling! I didn’t have any Poppy Parade ribbon, so I took some 1/8″ Whisper White Sheer Ribbon, a dauber, and the Poppy Parade ink to create a coordinating ribbon! Did you see the cool new punch? You can order yours on March 1st! They are unveiling new limited edition coordinating Sale-a-bration products to compliment your new FREE items!
It’s called the Story Label punch! Psssst! There is a new stamp set to coordinate with that called More Than Words! (ok now that song is in my head!) I used one of the Layering Ovals to make a nice mat for the sentiment.
Here is the video tip on how to create your own coordination colored ribbon!
I love everything Christmas! The traditional colors are my favorite! The Frosted Floral Suite showcases a stunning color combo in the Holiday Catalog! My favorite product in this suite is the gorgeous pearlized Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper! The designers put together the perfect balance of Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride, Gray Granite, Merry Merlot, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Pineapple Punch, Powder Pink, Soft Seafoam, and Tranquil Tide.
I love the deep jewel tones of the Blackberry Bliss and Tranquil Tide. I started with those two colors and then started building my palate. I added a touch of Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride, and Gray Granite. This is a Christmas Stamp a Stack card for next weekend. I made a video to show the tips and tricks to this card. But, it really is a simple card to make.
You know I had to add a touch of Wink to this card! Rhinestones also add some bling along with the Braided Linen Trim! I love how these non-traditional colors make the season feel cool and frosted!
