Total Eclipse of the Heart

img_2953

I had to make a punny title!  I made this card our club last month! I love that you can use it for Valentine’s Day or any “love” occasion!  I used the cute heart in the Be Mine Stitched framelits as the O in LOVE.

img_2954

To make the letters POP, I used the  Foam Adhesive Strips because they are easy to use and are slightly higher than dimensionals. I just tied a knot and cut the banner end on the ribbon for a cute accent!

I invested in the Large Letter Framelits when I had flex points from Stampin’ Up!  They were almost FREE!

FREE??  As a demonstrator, you get flex points for each dollar you spend or earn through sales.  One main reason I love they way Stampin’ Up! rewards all types of demonstrators! Hobby demos can earn FREE products or logo items exclusive for demonstrators!   Right now is the BEST time to sign up too!  You have until June 30th to meet your minimum of $300 ($280 after your 20%).  Plus, you get EXTRA products in the CUSTOM Starter Kit!  The hard part is deciding if you want the CUTE tote that is especially designed for us in mind!  It fits the Paper Trimmer too!!  Here is mine all filled to the brim with goodies!

Tote Option is $129 plus tax: You get $175 in your choice of current products (including pre-order) and this adorable tote!

Regular Option $99 plus tax: You get the $175 in your choice of current products!

That’s $50 more than it is during the year!  You don’t have to run it as a business!  Just be your own craft store with a permanent coupon!  And if you need help with your minimums, just ask a couple friends!  Stamp with someone or hold one event now and again!  We are here to help you!

Blessings!

Gift Card Holder

IMG_6810

Wow, is it really 4 more days until Christmas??  I had some reconstruction touch ups done and a tummy tuck last month. (Cancer wakes you up to getting healthy, lost 32 pounds) So my timeframe has been way off!  But boy I love seeing a flat tummy for the first time in over 15 years!

Ok, enough about that…I saw this cute gift card holder on Buckeye Inkling’s blog.  So, I had my club members make it for something a little different!  You can always use a gift card holder!!  Especially those last minute gifts!  And you can change it to what ever season you like! Products used listed below should go to my online store: Laura’s Online Store

There are GREAT deals on the clearance rack as well as the year end clearance!

Circle Tab Punch Gift Card Holder

  1. Cut your card base to 9 ¼” x 4 ¼”
  2. 1/2” down each long side of your cardstock
  3. Rotate & score at 5”

To make the tabs: cut diagonal at the 5” score line on the shorter side.  Then use your Stampin’ Cutter to trim off the sides. Line up your score line with the groove where it cuts.

Use Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape to glue tabs to the back of the shorter side so you don’t have glue showing on the front.

Your insert Whisper White Piece should measure 3” x 5 ½” and score at 4 ½”. Fold and use glue dots to secure each side. Not the middle, that is where the gift card will tuck inside. Use washi tape or DSP to the scored part for decoration.  Use your Circle Tab Punch to make the pull out for the insert.  All you need now is the gift card!  And these fit in our normal envelopes!

Enjoy the rest of the Pre-Christmas day ahead!  And if you reserve a Stamparatus through me, I will give you a $5 off your next in person/emailed order! (Please send a screen shot or an email (Lkvenvert@sbcglobal.net) of your confirmation.  This is like the Misti, but BETTER!

Here is the instructions on how to reserve yours now through December 30th 11:59 (MT)

Frosty Eclipse Card

AWOC8642

I have seen so many of these cute eclipse cards!  I finally had to make one!  This is the technique for my November’s stamp club!  It’s super simple too!

You will need the Large Letter Framelits to make this card. (You can also use any bold image dies as well.)  I am a person who likes to eyeball placement of dies, so using the Magnetic Platform make this a snap!  I knew right away that I wanted to use this wonderful Year of Cheer Specialty DSP!  I just love the thickness of the paper and the beautiful foil images.  Another benefit of this DSP is that you get 3 pieces of each of the 4 designs (single sided designs).  It’s great for making bags, boxes, cards, and tags too!

  1. Line up your letter dies on the DSP or pre-stamped paper.
  2. Run them through the Big Shot and carefully remove them from the dies if needed.
  3. A dark background is preferred to create the shadow effect.  I placed Basic Grey behind my DSP with the letters cut out.
  4. Mount the DSP/Mat piece to the card base.  I used Dimensionals to give my ribbon some room in the back of the mat.
  5. Place Foam Strips on the back of the letters and them right over the cut out letters.
  6. A little ribbon and it’s done!

I can’t wait to make some signs with this technique too!  Just think of the cute gifts you can create with this technique!
