Love you to pieces

love you to pieces1

I had to have the Love You to Pieces Bundle when I saw the new catalog!  I have a few friends who have children with Autism that I would love to make these for!  I have a few other designs floating around in my head as well!  I can’t wait to get back into the stamp room!

What I really like about this bundle is the Puzzle Pieces Thinlits that coordinate with the stamp set!  Stampin’ Up! now offers Embossing Pads that turn your Thinlits/Framelits into dry embossed images!  So you can create even more with this bundle!

I used 4 pieces of 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 squares of the following colors: Real Red, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushell, and Daffodil Delight. I lined them up as shown below-makes for one pass through the Big Shot. how to puzzle

Boy, that close up of my clear plates makes me want to order some new ones!  Wow!

In Love with Rooted in Nature

Once again I find myself gravitating towards the Rooted in Nature bundle! The coordinating Nature’s Poem DSP makes color coordination a snap! The colors just pop off each other!

We made this card for stamp club this month. We started by random stamping the big leaves with Tranquil Tide and Grapefruit Grove. We then added the returning favorite Blackberry Bliss with the smaller leaf stamp! Just look at the details in the lead stamps!

Next, we added a strip of a subtle pattern from the Nature’s Poem DSP followed by the Blackberry Bliss Nature’s Twine. I made the ends frayed for extra texture. You just simply twist the ends to un-twist the strands. I use a piercing tool to comb it out.

The metallic leaves are cut out of Copper Foil & the matching framelits. To complete the look, we stamped the greeting with the Blackberry Bliss on the Grapefruit Grove cardstock.

To get your Rooted in Nature suite, visit Laura’s Website and use the hostess code below.  Be sure I have your address for a thank you gift!

Little Purple Hugs

img_0540Here is another card idea for the Abstract Impressions set!  This set has yielded at least 4 cards already!  I had to try out the Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape!  I paired it to color the stems with Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist.  The results are stunning!

This card was made for my Annual New Catalog Open House/Customer Appreciation this past weekend. There were goodie bags for those who attended, lots of retired items for sale (I can post a list if you are interested), tons of samples using new products, and wonderful friendships celebrated! It was a great turn out!  And a dear friend took the plunge and joined my team!

My 8 year old begged to make a card with us and I was thrilled with his results! I didn’t help him one bit!  So proud!!

Here are some samples of the new In Colors:

Waterfront Silhouette

JHFI6547 (1)

I love when the moon reflects off of a lake at nighttime.  I decided to try and capture that look with this silhouette on water color paper.

Here is how I created this card:

1.      Stamp the moon with Versa Mark and sprinkle with Clear Embossing powder on the watercolor paper.  Heat set.

2.     Start at the top of the watercolor paper using an Aqua Painter and Night of Navy ink and wash back and forth.  I made it darker at the top.  You can go back after one layer dries to add more depth.

3.     I followed up with Perfect Plum to give it the night sky effect. Let dry or heat set.

4.     Run the Basic Grey piece through the Big Shot with the Petal Garden embossing folder. Adhere to the card.

5.     Tie the Basic Grey ribbon to the card.

6.     Stamp your sentiment and cut out with the Stitched Shapes Circle.

7.      Use Basic Black to stamp the mountains and trees onto the watercolor paper.  It must be completely dry.

8.     Then stamp the water with the Night of Navy full strength.

9.     Go back and add more color wash if needed.  I did stamp some water at the bottom with Night of Navy stamped off.

10.  Adhere to the Basic Black mat piece. Add Dimensionals to the back to adhere to the card.

11.   Use the Dimensionals to pop up the sentiment too.

Delightful Criss-Cross Card

IMG_3020

I am so excited that Stampin’ Up!’s On Stage is around the corner!  I made this card for a Fun Folds SWAP and it was so cute, that I had my club girls make it too!  I used the directions from Splitcoast Stampers under recourses.  Just look up Criss Cross.

I didn’t use the DSP the way it shows in the instructions.  I loved the way it looked with out the DSP.  I used one of my all time favorite stamp sets: Daisy Delight!  I just stamped it twice with Night of Navy ink and punch it out with the Daisy Punch.  I then took the two flower centers and used Daffodil Delight.  TIP: to make the textured center stamp image stand out, I stamped that on in full strength.  I followed it with the solid center, but stamped off the Daffodil Delight on my grid paper.  I used the coordinating Delightful Daisy DSP for the belly band.  The finishing touches were the Night of Navy Gingham ribbon and the Wink of Stella center.

The insert was stamped with the flower outlines, stems, and leaves.  I used the sentiment from Flowering Flourishes.

This is the last weekend to order the FREE Creative Class to Go! The cards are super cute and all the supplies come in a stamp case with PDF instructions!  Your order for the stamp set/bundle comes directly from Stampin’ Up!

Amazingly Simple

XIYS1259

Who loves to make quick and simple cards??  I do!  I made this for my Sweet & Simple class and I am using it as a SWAP for the upcoming Stampin’ Up! On Stage event!

**if you are local; I am moving the Sweet & Simple to the Thursday the 29th at 7pm!  We all need a rest from Spring Break!

The set is called Amzing You and it is a FREE item from the Sale a Bration catalog!  How do you earn it for FREE??  (and there are several other items available for FREE too!) For every $50 spent, you earn an item!  There are even great items for $100 levels too!  Click on Laura Venvertloh’s website to shop now!

I first used Smoke Slate as my card base and cut the Petal Passion DSP as a background paper piece.  I stamped the flower and colored it with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends pack (144603) and a Color Lifter (144608) They are going on back order soon if not already….they are very popular right now!

EHUJ3338

As you know, I am a Wink a Holic!  So, naturally I Winked the flower and added a clear Faceted Gem for the center. A quick cut out of the sentiment with the Stitched Framelits, and done!

Be sure to check out the FREE Creative Card Class to go for March! img_7385

I send the consumables to you in a cute stamp case that has the month, set, and other items to have on hand.  You get enough to make 6 cards!  2 of each above!  Plus, a PDF with color pictures and instructions to create the cards! This month will be popular!

Happy Stampin’!!

Beautiful Stained Glass

final

I am so happy that we have the new Stampin’ Blends markers!  They are alcohol based markers that make shading a snap!  The collection can be sold as a whole set, in pairs, or per marker.  There are also color lifters, Ivory, and Bronze colors to make your skin tones easy too!

I wanted to focus on a fun technique this month at club, and used them with the Stained Glass technique.  It’s super simple and yields gorgeous results!

  1. USE the Embossing Buddy!! I usually forget using it, but for this technique, it’s a must.  Rub some on the surface of the vellum.
  2. Next, use Versa Mark and stamp your image on the vellum.
  3. Use a dark or metallic embossing powder to sprinkle on top.
  4. Heat the powder using the heat tool.
  5. Choose your markers that you want to use and color on the BACK side of the vellum.
  6. Adhere your vellum to a light colored card stock.  I used Glue Dots under the wings to keep them hidden.

final-1

I also used Washi Tape to keep the sides down and a Glue Dot on top covered by the Fresh Fig bow. I am so ready for warmer weather and pretty flowers! So, you may see a lot of bright colors and flowers coming!  After this cold/flu/sick season….I am done!
