Free as a Bird is one fun set to create with for me! The birds are just so stinkin’ cute sitting on the branch! Notice the fun shape for the frame it is stamped on? It’s from the new Stitched Nesting Dies! There are several sizes and with the double stitching, you can use the negative piece as well as the original piece! Paper saving always makes me happy!!
I created the background using the coordinating Bird Ballad DSP and Soft Suede stamped with the new Birch background stamp! I love the new cling stamps, especially with the background stamps! You can use the Stamparatus to make your background come out perfect! It sticks in place while you ink and clean the stamp!!
There are some darling embellishments in the Bird Ballad Trinkets! I chose a key this card, but you can add a sprig, a flower, or a bow too!
To create the watercolor look, I did use the Stampin’ Blends: Calypso Coral (light/dark), Soft Suede (light/dark), Mossy Meadow (light/dark), and Crumb Cake (light/dark). Then I went over where I wanted to blend and highlight with the Color Lifter.
