Faux Patina

Faux patina

This was a big hit for my club members!  We did this technique a couple weeks ago!  It’s looks really complicated, but it is very easy to create.

Ink one side of the embossing folder with a light color ink (Crumb Cake used here).

Place Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock inside the inked folder and run it through the Big Shot.

Sponge the medium of ink (Marina Mist used here) over the piece to bring out the details. Sponge the darker ink (Always Artichoke used here) to bring out more detail.

Leave some of the in-between areas a little lighter to vary the depth of the colors. Sponge on the darkest color ink (Early Espresso used here) to bring out the deep textures. Very lightly rub VersaMark™ Ink Pad over the top of the embossed design. Sprinkle on metallic embossing powder (Silver), then heat set with the heat tool.

I love how each card looks different when you do this!  Be sure to share your creations with me!

Stampin’ Hugs!
