Moonlit Flora: Vintage Emboss Resist Card Technique

There’s something absolutely magical about the Emboss Resist technique! It still mesmerizes me to this day!

For today’s card, I used the beautiful Fern & Flora Stamp Set to create a soft vintage-inspired design with the gorgeous Moonlit Flora Suite products. I began by stamping the leaf images onto Basic White cardstock using VersaMark ink. Then I sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over the images and used my Heat Tool to melt the powder until it became shiny and raised. Watching the powder transform is always one of my favorite crafty moments!

Next came the really fun part… blending ink! I used the Peaceful Pine and Golden Glow In Color ink pads to softly blend over the entire surface. The clear embossed images resist the ink, allowing those gorgeous botanical details to shine through underneath. Speaking of Peaceful Pine & Golden Glow, check this out!!

Okay… now back to the card before I spiral into more excitement about that deal. 😂

After blending, I used a slightly damp paper towel to gently wipe away the leftover ink from the embossed images. This step really makes those details POP against the blended background!

To add even more vintage charm, I stamped another leaf frond in Peaceful Pine and added the adorable moths in Pecan Pie. I finished the card with a small sentiment, a few coordinating die cuts, Granny Apple Green Shimmer Dots, and a lovely touch of Golden Glow ribbon for extra texture and sparkle.

This card was created as the monthly technique project for my stamp club, and they absolutely LOVED it! Techniques like this are such a fun reminder that a few simple tools can create truly stunning results.
