No Line Watercolor

QTCG0609

I saw the Better with You stamp set in the new Annual Catalog, and I had to give no line water coloring a try! I was having a hard time deciding on a color scheme and my friend suggested the mad bluebird!

I had never heard of them before and he was so cute!!  My water coloring wasn’t exactly no line, but I love how it turned out!

It’s super easy to create!  This will be the technique for club this month!

  1. Use a light color to stamp the image you want to color.  I used Sahara Sand.
  2. Use your aqua painter & ink refills to create the watercolor images
  3. If you want darker shading, wait for the first layer to dry completely.
  4. I did use a Stampin’ Write marker tip to define his eye and beak.
  5. I completed the look with a pearl colored with a black sharpie.

The background of the Balmy Blue is the new Subtle Dynamic Embossing folder!  It turns your card stock into textured in a flash!

In Love with Rooted in Nature

Once again I find myself gravitating towards the Rooted in Nature bundle! The coordinating Nature’s Poem DSP makes color coordination a snap! The colors just pop off each other!

We made this card for stamp club this month. We started by random stamping the big leaves with Tranquil Tide and Grapefruit Grove. We then added the returning favorite Blackberry Bliss with the smaller leaf stamp! Just look at the details in the lead stamps!

Next, we added a strip of a subtle pattern from the Nature’s Poem DSP followed by the Blackberry Bliss Nature’s Twine. I made the ends frayed for extra texture. You just simply twist the ends to un-twist the strands. I use a piercing tool to comb it out.

The metallic leaves are cut out of Copper Foil & the matching framelits. To complete the look, we stamped the greeting with the Blackberry Bliss on the Grapefruit Grove cardstock.

Who is ready for the NEW catalog!!???  I have a LONG wish list!!!  I can guarantee that Rooted in Nature stamp set and the coordinating Nature’s Roots Framelits is a must for your wish list!  Look how quickly you can create simple, elegant, and masculine cards with it!

This card was made for my club members last month! We stamped the tree in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla.  Then, we adhered the Nature’s Poem DSP strip & smaller strip together.  To finish that piece, we tied Linen Thread around it twice and tied a knot.  Next, we cut out a leaf stamped in Grapefruit Grove (a new favorite color of mine!) and a Copper Foil piece too! It was easily assembled onto Tranquil tide and Mint Macaron!

Masculine Petal Passion

HECN5226 (2)

I love it when I am working on one project, then cut out a piece from the Big Shot, and then a new idea hits me!  I saw the negative of the Petal Branch from the Petals & More Thinlit dies and immediately saw this card!

It was such a simple card to put together too!  I just popped a piece of Copper Foil in the background and matted it with Early Espresso.  A little Linen Thread and a sentiment, finished!  And it’s masculine!  Those are usually my hardest to design!

The pictures do not do the copper justice at all!  It really pops in person!

My son has grown up around me making crafts with Stampin Up! products.  He wanted to make his friend a birthday card, so off to my room we go.  He usually goes through my pieces that don’t make it onto a project and scrap paper.  But I am so proud of what he made!!

He tells me he wants to be a Stampin’ Up! demo when he gets older!  Ha!  I will see what he says when he’s 18!  Until then, I will eat up these moments!
