I started hosting Zoom Mystery Stamping events online since the pandemic started. Everyone really enjoys them and watching people try to figure out what type/kind of card style we are making is quite entertaining! Fun Folds has been the type of card we make. The Celebrate Sunflowers card above is a Double-Z Fold that we did for the June Mystery Stamping! Here is how to make your Double-Z Fold:
•Card Base: 4 ¼” x 11” (score at 2 ¾” & 5 ½”) Don’t fold yet •Insert Layer: 3”x 9 ¾” (score at 2 ¾” & 5 ½”) Don’t fold yet. •DSP/Patterned Paper: 5 ¼” x 4 (1 piece); 2 ½” x 4” (2 pieces) •One set or two stamp sets
•Fold your base piece (11”x 4 ¼ ”) at 2 ¾” like a mountain/valley. You want the 5 ½” part to be flat, and a Z-fold. (Fold your insert piece the same)
*Adhere your matching 2 DSP pieces to the card base that are smaller to the inside of the card and one DSP on the bigger base part of the card. –I used another piece of DSP for the insert middle part. 2 ¾”x 2 ½”. –I cut 2 pieces of Whisper White for the insert: one at 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” & the other at 2 ¾” x 2 ½”. –Decorate your outside piece of Whisper White and tape on the front of the card.
•The easiest way to adhere the two z-folds together is to lay the base piece down and press the folds together. Then place the insert with the longer side on the front. You want to be sure it will close prior to gluing it down. •Add extra focal stamps, ribbons, or embellishments!
