I swear it was just October! The holidays were crazy busy and my craft room was a disaster area! But, I am re-organized and re-energized! I am making some improvements to my blog and my events this year!
I finally was able to play with my pre-order goodies from the Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration catalog! The Music from the Heart stamp set was top on my wish list! I grew up playing the piano (not well, but I could do it) and I love all types of music! I have fond memories with songs and pieces from over the years! With Valentine’s Day fast approaching (yes, I know-crazy!), I wanted to create a card with a musical vibe!
First, I stamped the music notes and hearts onto a piece of Whisper White. I then cut a 5″x 3 3/4″ piece of the From My Heart DSP from the middle of the longer side to the midline of the piece of DSP. I created the folds by creasing them with my bone folder. I placed a Glue Dot under the flaps so they would stay down. Then I adhered that piece onto the stamped Whisper White piece to look like music was coming out of the opening. I used Basic Black as a mat on top of a Real Red card base.
Next, I stamped the piano on a scrap piece of Whisper White and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes dies. I colored it with the Basic Black and Real Red dark blends. I adhered it with dimensionals and adorned it with Basic Rhinestones. Inside was stamped with the treble clef and a love sentiment. That way it can be used for more than a Valentine’s Day card!
