Sorry it has been a while since I have posted! It’s crazy craft season and I have one last vendor event here in Texas! I was in search for a technique for this month’s stamp club and my friend showed me an emboss resist card she made. This is what I came up with after seeing her creation! Don’t you just love it when you are inspired by other people’s projects?
This card features the Snow Crystal Background stamp that is in the August-December 2022 Mini Catalog! And it does not disappoint as your main focal piece! I wanted to capture the peacefulness of gentle snow falling around dusk. Here are the steps to make one for yourself!
First you will need to stamp the Snow Crystal stamp with VersaMark onto ap piece of Shimmery White (or light cardstock) and sprinkle Clear or White Embossing powder on top. Heat set once you have tapped off the excess powder. Give it a few seconds to cool down. I used the Blending Brushes with Orchid Oasis Ink Pad & Fresh Fresia Ink Pad to create the gradual ombre effect! It’s ok to keep going back to re-apply the inks. It helps blend them together and makes the saturation more in depth. Take a paper towel and wipe the embossed image to make it pop! Did you notice the speckles? I just took a Bone Folder and tapped firmly against it with the Starry Sky Stampin’ Blends and followed up with Wink of Stella Clear.
I used the sentiment & die cut from the Joyful Flurry bundle! I love the tip we got at On Stage a couple weeks ago from Shelly & Sara! The silver from the Simply Elegant trim can be frayed at the ends using the tip of your Paper Snips. There is a white center that can be removed to make it easier to fray. I love the delicate tinsel look it added to this card! I finished the card with the Adhesive Backed Sequins & Gems that coordinate with the Joyful Flurry bundle.
