Who knew that you could create unique and stunning backgrounds using bleach?? We focus on a new technique each month for our stamp club. They each get a journal to decorate and place a smaller sample in along with a short passage of how to re-create the techniques. This one is a lot of fun when you test out cardstock colors! I wanted to do a Night of Navy, but the bleached image was a deep aqua. The Merry Merlot was the winner! (I highly suggest testing on small scrap pieces to come up with a color choice)
The creation part is really easy! Take a paper towel in an embossing tray and pour a fairly liberal amount on it and place another paper towel on top. This will help disperse the bleach for a more even stamping surface. I used a Cling Mount (red rubber) stamp set to stamp on top of the bleach paper towel. Randomly stamp different images on your card stock until you are happy with the background. (I DO NOT recommend using this for photopolymer stamps. I haven’t tried it yet-and I am a little concerned it might alter the crisp images on the photopolymer stamps.)

I chose the Nature’s Prints bundle to stamp my floral arrangement in the center. The biggest one I used VersaMark and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. The smaller two I used Merry Merlot on Very Vanilla and Brushed Gold Specialty Paper for the accents. (I also placed Adhesive Sheets on the small accents for easier application). I liked the label die in the Geranium dies for the sentiment. I also made a tousle of Gold Cord behind the sentiment. I finished it off with the Champagne Rhinestones for a little more bling!
