I love simple, neutral tones to make some of my Christmas Cards! The Peaceful Place DSP paired with the Music Melody 3D folder did not disappoint! I sometimes struggle to keep it simple when I make my cards-kind of like cooking. Oh let’s add a dash of this, and a smidge of that-then poof! The card now has multiple layers!! I had my annual Stamp a Stack of cards a couple weeks ago and this one one of their favorite designs! Minimal stamping and tools helped them make their 4 of this one in a snap!
Start by using the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder with a 2 3/4″ x 5″ Basic White card stock and run it through the Stamp, Cut, and Emboss Machine (SCEM). Next, use a Stampin’ Sponge (I cut them in 1/4ths to get more for my money) and swipe it with the Smoky Slate ink pad. Be sure to start lightly or practice on scratch paper first so you can get the right look. Then you can choose the DSP that you like and cut it to 2 3/4″ x 5 and then a piece of Silver Foil at 5″ x 1″. You will adhere your Basic Gray mat piece 4″ x 5 1/4″ on top of the Smoky Slate card base (creased/folded in half); then you will adhere the embossed piece and the DSP on top. The Silver Foil will cover the middle section with any overlap.
The sentiment is stamped from the Happy Hollydays stamp set and cut out with the smaller label in the Seasonal Labels dies. I loved the size and simplicity of this sentiment. To add more pop, use a Dimensional in the center of the Snowflake (well done Stampin’ Up!-it is the perfect size!). The Silver Mesh ribbon is a lovely touch since it is so dainty, but delivers such a wow on your projects! I just snipped a tiny bit and pinched it in the center before I placed the snowflake on top. The snowflake looked so much better with the ribbon and the Basic Rhinestone on top!
