This is a fun fold card that we made last night during our Virtual Mystery Card Night!
I was determined to find a way to keep connected back in March when the lockdown was in place. My teammate and I started these virtual classes via Zoom and they have been a great addition to the classes I offer! It is great to see people that are far away or need to be more careful about where they go for personal reasons. If you are looking for an engaging and silly group of ladies to craft with virtually, we are here for YOU!
What is a Mystery Card Night? I make a card-so far they have been fun folds-and then I craft up a Power Point to share with everyone. You use your ink, paper, stamps, and embellishments that you have on hand. (doesn’t have to be current or SU) I send the Zoom meeting ID and the suggested items to have on hand to those that RSVP. I love seeing what everyone creates by the end of the class! We have a contest on my Laura’s Creative Corner FB page for a fun prize! Check my list of events for the next one! This was a Flip Up & Flip Out fun fold that I found on On Y Go! Stamping! I loved how simple it was to follow her tutorial and how everyone would have items at home to create this for our class! The following are from her blog-why reinvent the wheel? She did a great job with these visuals!
After scoring and cutting the 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock-the rest is really just coordinating your patterned DSP with your other items. Here are the measurements I sent to the ladies that join us Friday.
•Card Base: The base will be an 8 ½” x 11” piece of cardstock
•Insert: light color to write on; cut one 4” x 5 ¼ ”
•Card Front: Pick a color that coordinates with your DSP; cut to 4” x 5 ½ ”
•DSP: (2) pieces of one design cut 1 7/8” x 5 ½” & (2) pieces of another coordinating design cut to 1 7/8” x 5 ½”
•Other pieces: Scraps for sentiment, labels, little extras
•One set or two stamp sets •Embellishments, dies, punches, and inks of your choice •Tape, glue, dimensionals, scissors etc.
