I love pineapple!!! And when I was pregnant, I would eat a whole one a week! My poor child is just now liking the taste of it! LOL! The Tropical Oasis suite has been a favorite of mine! I have made at least 5 cards using all the goodies! This was one of the first ones I made! I was curious about the dies that cut out the prickly outer layer of the pineapple along with the leaves on top! I decided that Copper Foil was a close match to an actual pineapple outside layer. Once I cut it out, I just kept on going making this card! It was a quick design! I love it when the creative mojo just flows!
I then cut out a small piece of So Saffron cardstock to adhere behind the prickly die shape. Then, I used Mossy Meadow cardstock to cut out the leaves for the top of the pineapple. Next I wanted to create a frame, so I whipped out my Stitched Rectangle dies and measured them against the card base. The Tropical Oasis has a gorgeous rattan looking piece that was perfect for the framed image!
I ran the card base through the die cutting machine with the Subtle 3-D folder to make the Mint Macaron have texture. The sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso, anchored with Champagne Basic Jewels (those need to be a regular item!!!!), and I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut it out. I finished off the card with some frayed Linen Thread topped with the Hibiscus flower from the Tropical Oasis Trinkets.
