Faux Metal

One of the projects for our monthly stamp club focuses on a technique. October I made this card with the Faux Metal Technique. I love how it turned out! The Come to Gather Suite is just gorgeous! I have made so many cards, décor items, and loose leaves with this bundle!

To create this card, I stamped the grain image with Pretty Peacock on a Pretty Peacock card base. Then I adhered the Come to Gather DSP after cutting the banner on one end. Next, I cut leaves using Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, and Terracotta Tile cardstock.

Now for the fun part! To make the faux metal, I punched a Very Vanilla Thick circle. Then I swiped Versamark ontop of the whole circle, sprinkled it with Silver Emossing Folder, and then heat set it. I reapeated the process 2 more times. But the last time I heat set the embossing powder, I had the stamp ready! While it is still hot, I pressed the stamp down firmly and pushed. I held it there for a few seconds and then pulled it up! The nice thing is if you don’t like the way it looks you can melt another layer and the messed up one will melt with it!

I accented the leaves with Wink of Stella clear and a small piece of the Come Together ribbon. I didn’t want my sentiment to take over, so I found a small one and used the Classic Label punch to cut it out.
