Watercolor Waves

I love the new Waves of the Ocean sneak peek suite! My late mother LOVED the ocean and I was so happy that she spend the last 10 years living a mile from the Gulf Coast! Seeing the pelican sitting on the pier and the ocean waves just bring back happy memories for me with my mom!

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest, but it took on a shape of its own! I grabbed my Fluid Watercolor paper and stamped the wave with VersaMark and followed it with White Embossing powder! Once that was heat set, I spritzed the whole sheet of paper with a Stampin’ Spritzer very liberally. I wanted it good and wet so the ink colors would create movement. I used drops of ink refills followed by water drops on Acrylic Blocks for my pallet. I used the Water Painters to pick up and spread the ink colors.

The suite has a limited edition has Blue Foils 12×12 collection to make the cards/project pop! You should see the Rhinestone Waves Jewels too! I chose the Costal Cabana foil for the mat and the Costal Cabana cardstock for the card base.

The pelican was stamped half in Smoky Slate and the other half Soft Suede. I added a little Blushing Bride to his beak with a Blender Pen and a little ink. Next, I sponged the pier poles with Soft Suede to tone it down. Then I popped it on the paper with Dimensionals.

The finishing touches were adding Wink of Stella to the whole wave to create the sparkle from the sun! I wish you could see it in person! A few birds and the sentiment cut out with the Waves Dies.
