We recently went to On Stage in Houston, Texas a couple of weeks ago. I love to make card SWAPS and this time I decided to sign up for an organized swap! The Notes of Nature Bundle (retiring soon) really spoke to me when I saw it! My one problem was that I needed to make 30 cards and I was using it for my Stamp Club card too. This is where making your own patterned paper (AKA Designer Series Paper-DSP) comes in handy!!
Mossy Meadow cardstock is the base of the card with a dry embossed Wild Wheat as a background color (Distressed Tile EF). I used colors that were in the Poetic Expressions DSP along with a strip of the Wild Wheat patterned sheet in that pack.
To make enough pieces for my cards, I used a 12×12 Basic White piece of paper and randomly stamped the images from Notes of Nature. (Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Wild Wheat, Lost Lagoon, Bubble Bath) I also used Stampin’ Blends to color in the leaves and the small flowers for an extra pop of color. I did splatter with a dark shade of Stampin’ Blends and distress the edges with Mossy Meadow.
Here is a great tip to get rid of the “haze” that the Embossing Buddy can leave behind!
- Dab your card stock with the Embossing Buddy and then use Versa Mark to ink up your desired stamp.
- Sprinkle the Embossing Powder on top and shake the excess.
- Heat the image until glossy.
- Take your clean Blending Brush and wipe away ALL that haze!!
