Who loves to create cards with new techniques?? I do! I taught this a few years ago to my Stamp Club and decided to re-create it! I ran across a card on Pinterest by Mandy Witherby where she used the Metallic Enamel Basics instead of the Gold Embossing Powder. (the latter is a lot more time consuming and kinda messy).
Are you eager to learn how to create with this technique?? Let’s get started!! First you will need to collect the following: Pecan Pie, Mossy Meadow, Pretty Peacock, & Crumb Cake (you can use similar colors) Stampin’ Pads; Sponges, your favorite embossing folder (I used the Countryside Blossoms EF from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog); Metallic Enamel Effects Basics
Run a light color piece of cardstock (Very Vanilla shown) through the Stamp, Cut, & Embossing Machine (SCEM) with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder. Then take the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Pad and drag it across the raised surface of the cardstock.
This is the fun and messy part! You may want to grab some gloves! I used 1/4 of a Stampin’ Sponge to rub the Pretty Peacock ink all over my cardstock & used Mossy Meadow next. The last color I used was Pecan Pie. (TIP: I staple a piece of cardstock that matches the ink onto my sponge. Choose a label style punch & fold in half, then staple! Organize & avoid mixing colors!)
I recommend using a small piece of foil instead of using an acrylic block. The Enamel Effects are a little hard to get off of the block. Squirt a little of the COPPER Metallic Enamel Effects and sponge/pounce where you want to see metal. I placed my sponge for the Enamel Effects in a tiny zip lock bag. It dries fast!
I felt that the piece of Very Vanilla was too clean looking, so I distressed the edges with the Pretty Peacock sponge as well. Now you just build your project with your new Faux Patina!
